Attending the Erasmus+ UK ‘My Story’ annual conference next week? Here’s everything you need to know about our packed out day.
With less than a week before this year’s annual conference on Tuesday 22 September, we’re busy with preparations here at the National Agency to make the day as special as possible and we thought we’d give you a little taster of what to expect.
So what’s going to be happening?
1. A smooth arrival
We’ve got a lot more delegates registered this year than in 2014 but we’ve been improving how we register people for our events with an online registration system. Just remember to bring a print out of your ticket with you and we’ll scan it when you arrive.
2. Networking galore!
There will be plenty of opportunities throughout the day to network with fellow delegates and National Agency staff, including sector leads. Delegate lists will be available for when you arrive so that you can pinpoint who you’d like to talk to. We’re also holding a speed networking event to help you meet some potential future partners or collaborators – don’t forget your business cards!
3. You’ll get to hear real projects’ stories
After some well-needed refreshments after your travels, the event will kick off with a plenary presentation where we’ll be hearing from a variety of project promoters about their successes with Erasmus+. Very inspiring!
4. A venue fit for a king
Nestled up next to Arthur’s Seat, the John McIntyre Conference Centre in Edinburgh is our host venue for the day. The open-air terrace that holds our exhibition even overlooks the famous dormant volcano. If you get a chance to go exploring, there’s lots of beautiful scenery and quirky places to explore.
5. Something to take back to the office
We’ve been working on some new promotional items recently. We launched our new sector brochures earlier in the year and conference attendees will be sampling a whole new range of products. Here’s a sneak peek…
6. All the latest from the inner workings of Erasmus+
Not only will delegates hear from the National Agency Director and Deputy Director during the conference, we’ve also got speakers from the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills and the European Commission joining us. They’ll be talking about the future of Erasmus+ and the successes and challenges of the programme so far.
7. Exhibit, exhibit, exhibit!
We’ve got a total of 12 exhibitors coming along to the ‘My Story’ conference to showcase the work of their projects. Many of our exhibitors have successfully applied for funding over many years through the Lifelong Learning Programme and now Erasmus+, so they’ll be on hand with tips and inspiration.
8. Share your story too
Our interactive board will give you the chance to tell everyone about the amazing projects you’ve been involved in. Remember to bring in photos, testimonials and memorabilia to pin to the board.
9. Get connected
We’re going to be live on social media throughout the day with photos and updates of what’s going on. Make sure you tweet us @erasmusplusuk and, most importantly, using the hashtag #epluspeople.
10. Learning, discussion and project support
In the afternoon we’re holding sector workshops led by National Agency sector leads. These will be interactive sessions full of tailored information, guidance on how to keep improving your projects and discussions about topics relevant to the sector you’re involved in.
And that’s not all!
There will be lots more going on during the event, but we don’t want to give it all away…
We look forward to seeing you all on Tuesday!
