1. Receiving a flurry of entries

This year’s competition was open to 2016 UK Erasmus+ participants from 5 September to 13 October 2016. We asked participants to share a photo and caption that captured the benefits of being involved in the Erasmus+ programme and the personal impact it has had – their ‘Erasmus+ Moment’. We received over 70 entries which made judging or the more difficult. Take a look at all the submissions in our entries gallery

2. Seeing the diversity of Erasmus+ experiences

We received a range of photos from locations across the globe, from students reaching the highest peaks through team working in Bavaria, to staff building new partnerships and sharing ideas in London. There was representation from across the sectors and different Key Actions of the programme.

3. Hearing your stories

As well as stunning images, we received inspirational quotes about life changing Erasmus+ Moments. Joanna Busk said this about her experience:

My Erasmus+ moment taught me that if you are daring and fearless with the world; it will take you to the most unexpected, exciting, authentic places and people. Thanks to my adventure in the Netherlands, I now have life changing memories and a little bicycle stamped on my heart.

4. Announcing our winners!

We were delighted to announce our ten winning entries for 2016. This included three overall winners, two chosen by our UK National Agency Directors and the photo which received the most ‘likes’ on Facebook. Take a look at our winners’ gallery or our Flipagram below.

5. Sharing the stage with our winners at our Annual Conference

Three of our winners joined us in Cardiff for the ‘Erasmus+ Effect’ Annual Conference. We invited them on stage to receive a special canvas print of their winning photo and to share their experience with our delegates. We were also able to offer professional references to winners to enhance their CV. One of our Director’s Choice winners, Šarūnas Nejus (pictured right below), said: "I was really happy to be nominated one of the photo competition winners and thus be able to attend the conference, where I met great people, learnt more about Erasmus+ and also got a chance to speak about my experience.”
