Do you know an adult learner whose achievements deserve to be celebrated? Did you take part in an Erasmus+ project that should be recognised for its positive impact on the community?
Led by the Learning and Work Institute, the Festival of Learning is the biggest celebration of lifelong learning in England. The Festival of Learning Awards celebrate outstanding achievements in adult education and the power of learning to transform lives.
This is your chance to put someone forward to have their achievements recognised for the 2019 awards. You can nominate:
- individuals who have transformed their own lives through learning;
- employers who have used learning to develop the skills of their staff;
- tutors who have changed their learners’ lives;
- learning projects or provisions that have had a positive impact on communities and could be shared with other learning providers.
All nominations must be received by 12pm on Tuesday 12 February 2019, so make sure you have your say and submit a nomination now. Winners will be announced in June 2019.
Be inspired by previous winners
Last year’s winners empowered learners, supported communities and changed their own lives through adult education. Be inspired by their stories:
“Winning the award this year was the best thing that had happened to me in a while. I would advise anyone who is thinking about nominating someone for this award to go for it – I promise it will make their year!” said Tracey Everitt, winner of the Learning for Work Award in 2018.
More than awards
The Festival of Learning is more than just an awards ceremony. Building on a 26-year history of Adult Learners’ Week, it is also an opportunity to engage more adults in learning by showcasing the benefits of lifelong learning for families, communities and society.
From developing essential skills needed to save lives at sea to engaging socially excluded adults through arts projects, our Erasmus+ adult education stories are perfect examples of the powerful impact learning can have.
