Keeping vigilant when travelling for Erasmus+

In the past few days there have been a number of events that highlight the threats faced both in Europe and indeed globally. From the terrorist attacks in Nice to the recent political unrest in Turkey we are reminded of the need to stay vigilant as we go about our lives. As a programme that involves a good deal of international mobility this is certainly true for those that participate in Erasmus+.

Whether you are travelling abroad for short meetings or undertaking a longer term placement as a student or volunteer, it is important that you maintain contact with the organisation or institution managing your project.

No matter what the circumstances, whatever country you’re visiting you should also refer to the advice given by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO). This advice is updated regularly, and should be viewed before you leave and during your travels.

You can also find some general guidance on our website here, but the FCDO remains the first port of call.
