Tenders invited for training contracts for volunteer scheme

Tenders are invited to train volunteers taking part in the European Voluntary Service (EVS) scheme as part of Erasmus+ Key Action 1: Mobility for Young People.

EVS projects last from two months to one year. The purpose of the training is to prepare participants to adapt to a new inter-cultural environment, and to respond positively to challenges. Using non-formal learning techniques, the focus is on communication skills and teamwork.

The training must be delivered across the UK in September and October 2014 to around 150 trainees. Courses last between one and four days, and are generally in a residential location with groups of 5-15 participants aged 18-30.

The training is required to be compliant with the European Commission’s guidelines and minimum standards for the EVS Training and Evaluation Cycle, specifically for ‘on-arrival, mid-term and pre-departure training’. Monitoring and evaluation will include feedback from participants.

Contracts are being awarded for this specific training cycle covering September – October 2014. It is anticipated that longer-term provision will be sought in the future.

The training providers that are appointed will be accountable to the British Council, who manage EVS in the UK for the Erasmus+ National Agency. The Erasmus+ UK National Agency is a partnership between the British Council and Ecorys UK.

To register your interest in this opportunity, please visit the British Council’s procurement portal. The deadline for registration is 12 noon (BST) on Thursday 14 August 2014. Full details (including training requirements, selection criteria and timetable) will then be sent. The deadline for receipt of proposals is 12 noon (BST) on Tuesday 26 August 2014.
